Question. How Do You Get Vicks Out of Hair?

Remember the old Tootsie Pop commercial where the kids want to know how many licks it takes to get to the Tootsie Roll center? Finally, they go to the wise owl who takes the Tootsie Pop, licks it three times, bites it and says, "Three." Well, Isaiah decided to crawl onto the bathroom counter and see what damage he could do with a bottle of Vicks. Please see the results below.

It's not as funny as it looks. Three days later and we can still style his hair any way we want without adding water or anything else. Once Rochelle had washed his hair about a dozen times we added some corn starch to try and soak up some of the Vicks. The good news...Isaiah hasn't had a stuffy nose since then.

Isaiah finished up the dessert plate Saturday night after we had friends over for a back-to-school party.

Family Reunion Pictures Round 1

Here are a few pictures from the Jackson Family Reunion this Summer. We're still waiting to get our camping photos which we will post for your viewing pleasure later. In the picture on the right we all had hundreds of ants crawling all over us. Emmalee finally broke down and ran. Still I think the picture turned out pretty good.

Elijah and Bob relaxed after a wonderful steak dinner. We were really tired of group pictures...especially Isaiah. The big family dinner was followed by a few days of amazing camping and fishing along the river.

Rochelle in Beijing

The Olympics have inspired me to finally share my trip to China. I thought you might be interested in seeing a familiar face in some of the sights you are seeing on TV right now. I am very excited to watch and say I've been there.

For those of you who don't know my mom and I went to Hong Kong in March to pick up my sister Amanda at the end of her mission there. I LOVED Hong Kong. It was an exciting fun city. It was very clean and I felt very safe there. After spending a few days in Hong Kong we moved on to visit Beijing.

This is us at a flower show in Hong Kong. Some of the Olympic events are in Hong Kong and they were of course very excited. Don't you love how my passport looks under my shirt?

This is the beautiful Hong Kong temple. When we arrived in Hong Kong we took a taxi to the temple to pick up Amanda at the mission office. I was so relieved to see Moroni.

The smells that came from this market in Hong Kong are not for the faint of heart.

This is in Beijing. We flew into the beautiful new Beijing airport the second day it was open.
I am sure you have all seen this on TV. It is the entrance to the Forbidden City on Tiananmen Square.

Inside the Forbidden City.

This was taken from the Summer Palace. It was cold and rainy and overcast the whole time we were in Beijing.
Here is the Great Wall. As you can see it snowed the night before. We got a very different experience than what I expected. We missed all the beautiful green and instead saw beautiful foggy white. If you have ever climbed the Great Wall you know that is it difficult. It is extremely steep and the steps are not all the same height. When you add snow it is worse. We thought going up was difficult and then we went down. Slippery!

This was awesome. It is toffee coated crab apples. I didn't even get sick. It was well worth the risk. YUMMY! Amanda needs to figure out how to make them.
I know this is a lot of pictures but I just couldn't resist sharing these great signs. The first two are from the Beijing Zoo, the last one is from the airport.
